Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday received a phone call from his Iranian counterpart, Hassan Rouhani, in which they discussed a range of pressing international issues.
The Russian Presidency (the Kremlin) confirmed in a statement that the two leaders briefed each other on the measures taken to combat the spread of the new Corona virus and agreed to continue cooperation in this field, especially at the level of the two ministries of health.
The Kremlin indicated that the two presidents discussed in detail the implementation of the joint comprehensive plan of action for Iran’s nuclear program, as Putin stressed that this plan remains an important agreement that contributes to ensuring international stability and security.
For his part, Rouhani stressed, according to the Russian statement, Iran’s commitment to the joint comprehensive plan of action and its willingness to cooperate on an equal and constructive basis with all parties to the agreement as well as within the framework of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
The Iranian president, according to the statement, expressed his gratitude to his Russian counterpart for Moscow‘s firm stance in favor of maintaining and implementing the nuclear agreement.
