Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has announced that Russia and China have started to discuss ways to counteract pressure from Western countries since 2019.
“We have a constructive dialogue with our Chinese counterparts,” Zakharova said in an interview with Russia 1. We discussed this subject about a year or so ago, when he did not hear at the time the critical speech of China that started in recent months, and we expected it during the consultations.
She added: “We have shared with the Chinese the Russian experience that was represented by the Russian rubophobia, making baseless accusations, launching media campaigns, persecuting the Russian media, expelling Russian diplomats and media aspects of all these issues including financial prosecutions, including at the legislative level, against offices Russian correspondents, endless fines and constant denial of credits. ”
She continued: “I talked about all of this with my Chinese counterpart in 2019, and we started completely from the same positions regarding the root causes, the way our Western partners work, and the ways in which we can resist them.”
The relationship between the United States and China is growing tense against the backdrop of several issues, mainly trade disputes, the issue of Hong Kong, the situation in the South China Sea, and the emerging Corona Virus pandemic.
