Global summit to tackle Corona virus calls for universal vaccine

Participants in a global summit to tackle the emerging corona virus in the world called for the necessity of providing the vaccine upon reaching everyone who needs it.

And Russia‘s website today quoted European Commission President Ursula voder Line as saying during the summit held last night as part of a joint initiative between the Commission and Global Citizen that it is “necessary to provide the vaccine to everyone who needs it.”

In turn, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said, “If an effective vaccine is found, then as global leaders we will have a moral obligation to ensure that it is available to all.”

For his part, French President Emmanuel Macron expressed his determination to unite efforts in this framework, saying, “We must reject the unilateral approach and continue to move forward together.”

For its part, Italy, which was hit hard by the virus, agreed.

The summit also included a television ceremony broadcast worldwide to raise funds for use in corona virus detection tests, related treatments and vaccines, and also to support the world’s poorest and most marginalized communities.
