Cabinet: Prioritize securing the basic and living needs of citizens

The Council of Ministers asked all ministries to prioritize work on projects related to securing the basic needs and livelihoods of citizens, as well as to secure the requirements of the production process and continue the plan for reforming economic and public sector institutions.

On the other hand, the Council discussed a draft law to exempt production requirements and raw materials involved in the human pharmaceutical industry from customs duties and all fees arising from their import and a draft law to exempt subscribers of electric energy for agricultural purposes who owe financial receivables resulting from the rental of electric energy from all the benefits, fines and allowances if they initiated payment Those receivables within one year.

The council also studied a bill to exempt owners of real estate damaged as a result of terrorist attacks from building permits fees when they are fully or partially repairing and restoring their properties.

In statements to reporters after the session, the Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Eng. Hussein Makhlouf, clarified that the draft law studied by the Council of Ministers on exempting property owners affected by terrorist attacks from building permits fees and added fees when undertaking the restoration of their properties in part or in whole applies to independent regulatory areas provided that the property is returned to What it was before and the same size.

According to Minister Makhlouf, the draft law comes in the framework of mitigating the citizens and simplifying the procedures, indicating that the exemption from fees resulting from the damaged real estate is only a form of compensation and this matter is accompanied by other studies concerned with developing organizational plans in a way that helps citizens to compensate for the damages incurred by them as a result of the attacks. In turn, Deputy Minister of Water Resources Eng. Osama Al-Akhras indicated that a study was presented on the components of the strategic plan and how to secure a water source and reserve for the next stage that included the southern, central and coastal regions.
