3 civilians were killed in an explosion in Daraa, southern Syria

The official Syrian “SANA” agency reported, yesterday evening, Saturday, that at least 3 people were killed as a result of an explosive device explosion near Abbasiya roundabout in Daraa in the city of Daraa, south of Syria.

“SANA” reported that an explosive device planted by “terrorists” near Abbasiya roundabout in Daraa neighborhood in the city of Daraa exploded, killing 3 civilians, wounding another and causing material damage to the place.

Daraa governorate is under repeated attack by armed men, and 3 civilians were injured on June 11, when an explosive device was detonated on the road between Al-Harak and Al-Soura towns in the eastern Daraa countryside.

Since the outbreak of the crisis in Syria in 2011, Daraa Governorate, located in the south of the country, has been the scene of heavy fighting between the Syrian army and terrorist groups, the center of which represented one of their most important strongholds.

However, during the years 2017 and 2018, the Syrian army, supported by Russian warplanes, managed to regain control of most of the southern regions lost by the beginning of the war.
