Saudi Arabia records an unprecedented sharp increase in infections with Corona virus

Today, Sunday, Saudi Arabia recorded a sharp and unprecedented rise in confirmed infections of the emerging corona virus, as this toll increased during the past 24 hours by 1552 cases.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Muhammad Al-Abd Al-Aali, stated during a press conference that 1552 new confirmed infections with COVID-19 virus had been detected during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of infected people to 27,011 people, 19% of whom are Saudis and 81% who are not. Al-Abd Al-Ali pointed out that 16% of the new cases were recorded by females and 84% among males.

Today’s rate is a new record for the daily rise in HIV infections in Saudi Arabia, after the index reached in the statistic of April 29, 1325, and on April 30, 1351, and on May 1, 1344, and on May 2, 1362.

In this context, a spokesman for the Saudi Ministry of Health stressed that the number of daily infections with Corona virus reflects the monitoring process in the community.

Al-Abd Al-Ali also mentioned that 22,693 of the recorded cases are active, of which 139 are critical.

The health official reported recording 8 new deaths due to the disease, after this rate was at the level of 7 cases in the May 1 and 2 statistics, bringing the number of corona virus victims in the kingdom to 184.

Al-Abd Al-Aali also announced monitoring of 369 new cases of recovery, bringing the total number of people recovering from the virus to 4,134 people.
