Moscow and Damascus accuse “global health” of obedience to the interests of the West

Russia and Syria have accused the World Health Organization of putting pressure in line with the interests of the West, and the United States in particular, at the expense of the Syrian people in light of the outbreak of Corona virus.

The Russian and Syrian headquarters to coordinate the return of Syrian refugees in a joint statement today, Wednesday, that the United States is manipulating the epidemiological situation in northeastern Syria, according to its interests.

The statement added that “the World Health Organization being dragged into this game is surprising and anxious”, referring to a report issued by the organization, in which it said that facing the epidemic effectively in northeastern Syria requires the restoration of sustainable supplies of humanitarian aid, including through Al-Yarubia crossing The border with Iraq.

The statement warned of the possibility of smuggling weapons and drugs and crossing the armed and infected with Corona virus to the lands of neighboring countries through this crossing, adding: “In these circumstances, it appears that the organization is exerting pressure in line with Western interests at the expense of the Syrian people and regional security.”

The statement pointed out that “the real goals of the West’s aggressive approach to opening Yarubiya crossing are represented in the unimpeded transfer of weapons to Kurdish formations controlled by the American side and the companies controlled by the United States to illegally extract Syrian hydrocarbon raw materials, instead of facing a virus infection” Corona or provide humanitarian aid to the population of Syria. ”

Moscow and Damascus urged the WHO to “reconsider its approach to observing the fundamental principles of the United Nations and to stop the practice of manipulating public opinion imposed by Western countries.”

The statement denied the validity of the allegations published by pro-US media about Moscow and Damascus allegedly preventing the passage of a humanitarian aid convoy agreed to enter Rakban camp in southern Syria on the occasion of the month of Ramadan, noting that these reports are nothing but a media “pump” behind the gunmen.

The statement affirmed the Syrian government‘s readiness to provide assistance to the citizens stuck in Rukban if it regains control of the area, as it helped all those who left the camp to the lands under state control in the past.
