Half of the Spaniards are preparing to ease isolation restrictions with fewer deaths

Half of Spain’s population is preparing to move to the next stage of graduation from one of the most severe restrictions of public isolation in Europe, coinciding with the low daily death toll from Corona.

The authorities began easing restrictions on isolation last year, but moving from “stage zero” to “stage one” would include a significant easing of procedures to allow people to move in the region in which they live, attend concerts and enter theaters. It will allow gatherings of up to ten participants.

On Monday, about 51% of the population will embark on a “stage 1” of a four-stage mitigation plan, after the government has determined that the areas in which they reside have met the necessary standards.

In areas where injuries have been recorded, such as the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands, bars, restaurants and cafes will open to a limited number, museums, gyms and hotels will open for the first time in nearly two months.

As for the two largest cities in the country, Madrid and Barcelona, they have not met the criteria required to ease restrictions and will remain in the “stage zero”.

The Spanish Health Ministry said today, Saturday, that the number of daily deaths in the country as a result of corona infection decreased to 179 deaths, from 229 the previous day.
