France recorded, yesterday, Sunday, a big and sharp jump to the daily death toll from the emerging corona virus, as 483 cases were detected, compared to 96 yesterday, Saturday.
The General Administration of French Health Affairs stated that the death toll from the virus in the country increased during the past 24 hours by 483 cases and reached 28,108, among whom 17,466 died in hospitals and 10,642 in homes for the elderly.
This figure represents a sharp rise in daily mortality from the virus, compared to the statistics of previous days, where this indicator in the data published on May 14 reached 351 cases, and on May 15 were 104, and on May 16 were 96.
According to the new data, the number of people infected with the virus increased by 204 to reach 179569 cases.
The French General Administration of Health, however, pointed out that the number of hospitalized patients continued to decline, as the outcome decreased from 19432 to 19361, and a new decrease was recorded for those in intensive care rooms from 2132 to 2087, a continuous decline for nearly a month.
It stated that the number of the injured who recovered in the country’s hospitals amounted to 61213 people.
France is the fourth country in the world in terms of the number of deaths from the Corona virus and the seventh in terms of the death toll.
On May 11, the process of lifting general restrictions imposed in France against the backdrop of the Corona Virus pandemic began, as some shops, service delivery facilities and schools were opened.
