Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijiang told a press conference that Beijing considers US allegations that China could try to steal the US vaccine against Covid 19, is unfounded.
He continued in this regard: “The American statements are baseless. China has made great progress in developing a vaccine against Covid-19, so why should we look at the United States? ”
Robert O’Brien, the presidential adviser for US national security affairs, had earlier expressed confidence that United States would be the first to develop an anti-corona virus vaccine, adding that he did not rule out the possibility that China would try to steal this vaccine from his country.
The Chinese diplomat said that regardless of the country that will be the first to complete research and development of the vaccine and start using it, this will be a major contribution to humanity’s war against the epidemic.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman stressed that research and development of a vaccine against “Covid-19” is not a race between the United States and China, but between humanity and the virus.
In this context, the Chinese diplomat continued, “China is ready to share its experience in the field of research and vaccine development, to enhance international cooperation in this field.”
