Abd Allahian: The United States is sending messages to Assad to reach an agreement with him

A senior Iranian parliamentarian, Hussein Amir Abd Allahian, denied reports that Iranian forces had withdrawn from Syria, while affirming that Washington wanted an agreement with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Abd Allahian, Special Assistant to the President of the Iranian Parliament for International Affairs, said in an interview with the Iranian Al-Alam channel, on Sunday: “As far as the Iranian-Syrian relations are are strategic, the Iranian counter-terrorism advisory forces went to Syria at the invitation of the official Syrian government.”

Abd Allahian, who previously held a number of prominent positions in the Iranian government, added: “Our advisers are still on the side of the Syrian armed forces as well as on the assistance provided by the Russian air force, and they are taking steps to continue the struggle against terrorism in Syria that still exists and has not been uprooted from Syria. ”

And Abo Zaid: “Destabilize security and stability there, bearing consequences that could reach Iran.”

Abd Allahian accused the United States of supporting ISIS and terrorists, noting that Washington is working to revive ISIS on Syrian land, explaining that this matter does not support the idea of reducing the Islamic Republic to manage its forces in Syria.

And the Iranian politician stressed that “as long as the Syrian government continues to call and demand that we help it in combating terrorism, we will be at its side with every force to combat terrorism and the stability of security and peace in Syria.”

And the Iranian parliamentarian considered that “the Americans wanted to bring down Al Assad and the Syrian government, and they were unable to do so, and today they send messages to him to sit with him.”

Israeli media have previously reported that Iran has begun the process of withdrawing its forces from Syria, in conjunction with rumors about a Russian-Iranian-Turkish agreement on the “resignation of Al Assad” from his post.
