Spanish personalities condemn the immoral sanctions imposed on Syria

The Spanish researcher and professor at the Central Complutense University in Madrid, Pablo Sabaj, condemned the continuation of unfair and immoral sanctions imposed on Syria.

Sabaj stressed, in a statement to a SANA correspondent in Madrid, the importance and necessity that all countries have the necessary means to combat the coronary virus pandemic, calling for the abolition of forced sanctions imposed illegally on the Syrian people as more dangerous than the virus that Syria is fighting with preventive measures to protect its citizens.

For his part, Carlos Paz, President of the European Front for Solidarity with Syria in Spain, demanded an end to the embargo imposed by the United States and the European Union on Syria.

Baz pointed out that the continuation of the siege is an extortionate measure that violates human rights and directly affects the Syrian people, their daily lives, and the arrival of medical equipment and assistance to them as the Corona pandemic sweeps the region and the world at large.

In turn, Spanish filmmaker Julio Perez, winner of the Goya Award for Best Short Documentary Work on Gaza for the year 2019, condemned the continued Western countries to impose siege and unfair sanctions against Syria, stressing that this forced action is directed against the people who resisted and stood up in the war against the terrorist organization “ISIS”.

For his part, journalist and researcher in defense affairs and the Arab world, Rodrigo Isassi Arce, said that what the siege is doing is exacerbating the suffering of the Syrian people after more than nine years of war against it and increasing the shortage of medicines and medical equipment amid the “Covid 19” pandemic that is sweeping the whole world.

In turn, the official of the Syrian Social Nationalist Party in Madrid, Faisal Kawash, called on the international community to intervene immediately to lift the sanctions imposed on Syria and stand beside it, especially in these difficult health conditions that the whole world suffers from.

Dr. Fawzi Al-Kanafany, the head of the Spanish-Syrian Businessmen Association, also called for the lifting of unjust and unfair sanctions, once again, to emphasize standing with the Syrian people, their leadership, and their army against those who aspire to Syrian goods.
