The Lebanese National Center for Geophysics reported 9 tremors that occurred in the north of Latakia, and one with a magnitude of 4.7, which was felt by the residents of northern Lebanon before noon on Wednesday.
In turn, the Syrian National Seismological Center said that the tremor occurred at 10:40 local time near the Syrian coast, at a depth of 2 km.
He added that the earthquake site is 40 km north of the city of Latakia, while the Syrian news agency “SANA” reported that the residents of Latakia, Aleppo and Tartus felt the tremor.
Yesterday, Tuesday, a moderate earthquake struck north of Latakia, measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale and at a depth of 2 km. It occurred at 01:37 local time.
It is the second tremor in Syria in a single day, as it was hit by a slight earthquake measuring 3.3 degrees on the Richter scale and a depth of 11 kilometers, 115 kilometers northwest of the city of Damascus.
