Venezuelan President Nicholas Maduro thanked his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, for the assistance Russia provided to Venezuela in fighting Corona, in particular the supply of test systems.
The two Presidents indicated by a phone call in which the Venezuelan side initiated the importance of the international community adopting coordinated measures to combat the new global threat, including the implementation of the initiative presented by President Putin to create “green corridors” free of wars and trade sanctions during this crisis, to supply medicines, food, equipment and technology.
In an exchange of views on the situation in the global oil market, the great importance of the agreement reached within the framework of OPEC + on an agreed reduction in oil production was stressed.
The actual aspects of the further strengthening of the Russian-Venezuelan strategic partnership, primarily in the commercial and economic fields, were also touched upon.
In this context, Russia confirmed its support for the efforts of the legitimate authorities in Venezuela, in order to peacefully settle the internal political differences based on dialogue at the state level. And it was emphasized not to accept the destructive external interference in Venezuelan affairs.
The two Presidents agreed to continue contacts at various levels, as well as at the level of the Ministries of Health.
In a video recording of congratulatory Orthodox Christians, Putin said that his country has all the resources necessary to do what is needed for people’s health and the economy.
He added that “all levels of authority operate in an organized, responsible and timely manner,” adding that “the situation is under full control.” And all of our society is united by the common threat. ”
Earlier, the Russian and Cuban foreign ministers stressed the need to confront the global threat to lift all unilateral sanctions against international law.
A comprehensive exchange of views was held on the tasks of building a strategic partnership between Moscow and Havana, including expanding cooperation in combating the spread of the corona virus pandemic.
