Ludarian: The world of post-Corona may be worse than the world before it

French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said that the new Corona epidemic exacerbated global divisions and Sino-American rivalries, and ultimately weakened international pluralism.

He said in an interview with the newspaper “Le Monde” published Monday: He feared the post-epidemic world would become “worse”, adding, “It seems to me that we have been witnessing the aggravation of the divisions that are undermining the world order for years.” The epidemic represents the continuation of the struggle between powers through other means.

“This struggle between powers is the regulation of power relations that we were witnessing before the health crisis, with the escalation of the Sino-American rivalry,” Ludrian added.

He pointed out that the “closed” of the United States, which appears to be reluctant to play the role of the leader at the international level, complicates every “joint step” on major global challenges, and encourages China’s aspirations to domination.

He stressed that as a result of this, China will feel able to say one day: “I am the power and the leadership.”

US President Donald Trump accuses China of the occurrence of the Corona virus, of “hiding” the seriousness of the virus and the true number of its victims, and suspended the US financial contribution to the World Health Organization, which it accuses of being biased towards China.

Washington is attacking Beijing on several other fronts, from denouncing its military expansion in the South China Sea to accusations of industrial espionage, but in January the two powers reached a trade agreement in the form of a truce in their war of mutual customs duties.
