Global Health warns of supply disruptions under Corona and urges the activation of air traffic

The World Health Organization has called for increased air traffic to deliver shipments of diagnostic and protection devices to the areas where Covid-19 is deployed, especially in Latin America.

Paul Mullenaro, WHO’s Chief of Operations Support and Logistics, said on Tuesday that global vaccine shipments were disrupted in April, and if this continues in May, there will be gaps in vaccination and routine campaigns to fight other diseases.

He added that the United Nations World Food Program recorded the first disruptions in some food distribution chains “that could have a significant impact”.

He continued, “With regard to commercial flights, we are always welcome to receive more offers. We always appeal to more assets or air freight at very discounted rates. ”

He said that the demand increased very significantly during the crisis of the Corona virus, but the World Health Organization was able to collect and distribute 1.1 million diagnostic tests, and another 1.5 million are on the way, as the organization has benefited from some preferential prices and aims to provide nine million tests through trade alliances.
