Chinese Foreign Ministry comments on a French scientist’s account of the corona virus

In response to a French scientist who stated that the novel Corona virus is not of natural origin, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Jing Shuang stressed that there is no evidence that this virus was created in the laboratory.

French virologist Luc Montagnier, Nobel Prize winner for medicine for the discovery of HIV in 2008, had previously seen that the Covid-19 virus had no natural origin and had been developed in the laboratory.

Montagnier assumed that molecular biologists did the work, and perhaps their goal was to produce a vaccine against AIDS.

But Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman, Jing Shuang, denied this account altogether and in detail, and said in this regard: “We have repeatedly stated that this is a scientific issue, which should be studied by doctors and scholars, and should not be politicized. Currently, the WHO and the vast majority of experts believe that there is no evidence that the new corona virus was produced in the laboratory.

It is worth noting that, since the appearance of the new corona virus (Corona) in the Chinese city of Wuhan at the end of December last year, the media have circulated stories about the possibility that the new virus has “leaked” from the laboratory of the local virus institute in that city.

On the other hand, in January the same institute issued an open letter, describing these assumptions as false rumors, stressing that the conscience of the employees of the institute is completely pure.
