Babacan: Turkey cannot get out of its crises while Erdogan’s authoritarian regime remains

The head of the Turkish Democracy and Progress Party, Ali Babajan, emphasized that Rajep Tayyip Erdogan‘s regime is the cause of the crises that afflict Turkey and that the country cannot get out of its problems in light of the survival of this system, which lost its credibility internally and externally.

Babajan told the Turkish Fox Channel: “There are no solutions to Turkey‘s crises under the authoritarian regime that does not respect human rights and is hostile to the simplest standards of democracy and freedoms,” in addition to his continuous lying to the Turkish people on various issues.

Babajan pointed out that Erdogan is hiding the truth from the Turkish people about the issue of the real losses caused by the spread of the Corona virus and said: “As is the case in many matters, the vast majority of the people do not believe Erdogan and his government, which increases the doubts of other countries in the reliability of the data on Corona or the economy And politics in general. ”

Babajan pointed out that Erdogan‘s indiscriminate policies will lead to a serious economic and financial catastrophe because the world no longer trusts him, especially as he now controls the judiciary, stressing the need to release all journalists and politicians detained because of their opposition to his regime.

Babajan took over the Ministry of Economy in the Turkish system between 2002 and 2007 when the Justice and Development Party came to power for the first time, and after that he spent two years as Minister of Foreign Affairs and was appointed Deputy Prime Minister between 2009 and 2015.

Babajan resigned from the Justice and Development Party in July 2019 because of “deep differences” over Erdogan‘s policies, and last month announced the founding of his new party.
