The United States becomes the third largest country with the number of deaths from the Corona virus

A toll released by Johns Hopkins University revealed that the number of deaths caused by the new Corona virus in the United States has exceeded a thousand, becoming the third largest country in the world with the number of deaths after China and Italy.

The French Press Agency quoted the university as saying that the death cases amounted to 1031, while the number of those who have been laboratory confirmed with the epidemic in this country reached 68,572 people.

Just hours ago, the number of deaths in the United States was 827, according to a previous toll released by the same source.President Donald Trump announced that New York City was “the biggest problem” in fighting the virus after 200 people in the city died from the epidemic.

On the other hand, the Pentagon announced that it had frozen for two months all the movements of the American military around the world, including the operations of sending soldiers to combat zones or returning them to their homeland, as part of its efforts to curb the new Corona epidemic.

In a statement, the US Department of Defense said that Defense Secretary Mark Esber had ordered the suspension of civilian and military transfers of all Pentagon employees abroad for a period of 60 days, noting that the freeze also includes family members of these employees if they live with them abroad.

The statement pointed out that the freeze decision would apply to about 900,000 members of the American armed forces deployed abroad, which “will have an impact on training, deployment, redeployment and other movements of the forces.”

Yesterday, the US Department of Defense counted 435 Covid 19 cases among its military and civilian employees, their family members, and contractors, including one contractor who died.

And yesterday, the US Navy announced the registration of three HIV infections on the USS Theodore Roosevelt aircraft carrier, which sails in the Pacific Ocean, in the first infection recorded on a US warship.
