The Syrian army leadership announced, on Saturday, that it has taken a number of precautions and measures to prevent the spread of the new Corona virus within the ranks of the armed forces.
The General Command of the Army and the Armed Forces said that the most important of these measures is “limiting gatherings and crowds, and working as much as possible to reduce congestion”, in order to protect fighters in their places of residence in the blocks and formations.
The measures also included stressing the necessity of using gloves and masks, and stopping sporting or military activities that require gathering, especially in enclosed spaces.
The army leadership added that it had also taken measures to raise readiness in military hospitals “with a view to accommodating severe cases and ensuring due diligence when necessary.”
