The terrorist groups backed by the Turkish regime deployed in the southern countryside of Idlib continued their criminal activities on the international road Aleppo-Lattakia and cut it off and prevented any attempt to open it to traffic.
A Sana correspondent stated that terrorist groups supported by the Turkish regime intercepted the patrols that are to be run on the international road Aleppo-Latakia, taking dozens of civilians as human shields and using them to light tires and erect barriers and earthen berms on the road in a number of sections, especially in the Jericho region of Idlib countryside.
Videos posted on social media pages showed armed terrorist groups igniting tires and sheltering behind dozens of civilians, to prevent any vehicles from passing on the road.
On both sides of the road, terrorist groups known to be affiliated with the Turkish regime occupy the Aleppo-Lattakia road for more than 5 years and prevent the passage of vehicles. To that, the Russian Ministry of Defense indicated in a statement published today on the website of the channel “Russia Today” to conduct the first joint patrol with the Turkish regime forces on part of the international “M4” road in the Idlib region, indicating that the patrolling path was shortened due to deliberate and planned road blocking By terrorist groups in Idlib countryside.
The ministry stated that the patrolling path was scheduled from the town of Tarnaba west of Saraqib to the village of Ain al-Hour in the west, but that “the terrorists prevented this by using the civilian population as human shields, including women and children, and forced them to crowd and sit on the road.”
It was announced in Moscow on the 5th of this month that an agreement was reached between Russia and the Turkish regime stipulating the cessation of hostilities in Idlib at the current situation and the start of joint patrols on the international road Aleppo-Lattakia starting from today with an emphasis on commitment to Syrian unity and sovereignty and continuing to combat terrorism there .
