Civilian vehicle movement returns to Damascus-Aleppo road

The Novosti correspondent reported that the movement of civilian cars has returned again, along the strategic “Damascus – Aleppo(M5) road in Syria, after a cessation of years that followed the outbreak of the Syrian crisis.

The reporter indicated that the traffic was safe on the part of the Hama Road to Aleppo, although it was successful until yesterday.

The reporter noted that there are many Syrian army checkpoints on this road at the moment, but the situation is generally calm.

He pointed out that many motorists deliberately enter the town of Saraqib, located near this road, which until recently was a site of heavy fighting between the army and the militants.

Currently, Saraqib is under the control of the Syrian army, which has pushed residents to gradually return to their homes and shops and restaurants are opening their doors to citizens.

Last Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart, Rajep Tayyip Erdogan, reached a package of decisions to ease tension in Syria’s Idlib that includes a ceasefire in the region.
