Turkish presidency: Our discussions with Moscow on Idlib did not produce results that satisfy us

Turkish presidential spokesman Ibrahim said that his country will not stop sending its forces to Idlib, northwestern Syria, stressing that the attacks of the Syrian army will receive a similar response.

He stressed that the basis of the Turkish position in the Moscow talks is to return to the borders of the Sochi agreement, stressing that the talks with Russia will continue around Idlib.

He claimed that “the military reinforcements will continue to Idlib in order to protect civilians” there.

Ibrahim said that changing the locations of the checkpoints in Idlib was out of the question.

Kalen said that no satisfactory results emerged from the Moscow talks on Idlib, stressing that the talks between the Turkish and Russian sides will continue, and he said: “So far, the results that have satisfied us and convinced us have not emerged from the talks with Russia, and we have not accepted the Russian proposals that were presented.”

He also added about the position of NATO, saying, “NATO‘s and our allies’ praise for our position and encouragement is not enough and unacceptable. If this continues to happen, then tomorrow, Idlib will go.”

The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement issued at the end of talks with Turkey that continued on February 17 and 18 this month, that the two sides continued on Tuesday to discuss the situation on the ground in Syria with a focus on the situation in the Idlib region to stop the escalation, and affirmed their commitment to the signed agreements to take measures to alleviate The humanitarian situation while continuing to combat terrorism.
