The head of the Russian Reconciliation Center in Syria, Major General Oleg Goravlyov, denied the reports that “hundreds of thousands” of civilians were displaced from the Syrian Idlib governorate towards the Syrian-Turkish border because of the combat operations against the terrorists.
“The news about an alleged influx of” hundreds of thousands “of local civilians who fled to the Syrian-Turkish border due to the fighting between terrorists and the Syrian forces east of the province is incorrect, said Goraflyov.
He continued: “There are no verifiable video or video material, nor is there any other evidence to support the news of the displacement of” about one million “people from the de-escalation zone in Idlib to the Syrian-Turkish border .”
He added: “During the past few weeks, all major transportation arteries in the north of the province are operating normally, which allowed transportation to the territory of the de-escalation zone, military equipment and freight cars belonging to the Turkish Republic, which are several kilometers long, in addition to ammunition.”
