The British Industrial Journal (TIA) newspaper published a report on the Turkish role in facilitating the entry of terrorists from around the world into Syria across the land borders between the two countries. The report, prepared by investigative journalist Abdullah Bouzikert, reviewed hundreds of classified records of communications obtained through private sources in the Turkish capital, Ankara. These recordings exposed the role of the Turkish Islamic government led by Rjep Tayyip Erdogan in enabling, and even facilitating, the movement of Turkish and foreign militants across the Turkish border to Syria to fight alongside ISIS surveyors.
The report reveals how the Turkish government colluded with ISIS against the Turkish people themselves and against the Syrian regime and people in an attempt to spread extremist ideas and obtain political and economic gains.
The Emir of ISIS Frontier, Ilhami Bali, talks about the transfer of Abu Abdullah Gharib, who is smuggling wounded ISIS jihadists to Turkey
The records, some of which were made public in an ISIS case that was quickly closed in August 2018, show an implicit agreement between ISIS and Turkish security officials that allowed The smugglers operate freely on both sides of the border between the two countries, which extends for 822 km without any consequences from the Erdoganian government. The agreement also allowed ISIS to run cross-border logistics lines to transport wounded fighters from the front to Turkey for treatment!
Ilhami Bali: In the middle of the picture, who played an important role in smuggling ISIS fighters across the Turkish-Syrian border
The recorded leaks illustrate Bali’s pivotal role in managing cross-border smuggling, including receiving fighters at airports and bus stations in Turkey’s southeastern provinces and arranging meetings with smugglers to pass those looking to join ISIS across the border to Syria. The leaks also reveal that Bali transported goods across the border in favor of ISIS, which included shoes and clothes, up to the shackles and parts of drones, binoculars, tents, high-powered headlamps and also a sea boat
In addition, the leaks reveal that the Turkish government knew the names and locations of 33 Turkish citizens who pledged to work as drivers for the ISIS smuggling network. Bali was held temporarily before his trial between April 2 and September 19, 2012, on charges of belonging to al Qaeda, but the Turkish authorities released him.
Although there were several orders to apprehend Pale, and as the phone records showed, the Turkish authorities knew his location exactly, none of them were implemented; this dangerous ISIS terrorist managed to circumvent the Turkish criminal system and follow the movement freely to and from Syria.
The telephone recordings showed how ISIS ran a jihadi center through Turkey that includes hotlines for communication and a communications center that communicates, directs, and receives terrorists who wish to engage in the Syrian war. The ISIS leadership ran a telephone line from the border town of Tal al-Bayyad, and the recordings showed that Bali diverted incoming calls to ISIS communications center to obtain their approval and obtain the green light to enter them into Syria.
Reports showed that ISIS used petrol stations, mosques and even soccer fields as meeting points, and they also chose Gazianti hotels, whose employees are not interested in requesting identity cards or official passports for reservations, in violation of Turkish laws requiring hotels to broadcast the registration of all guests to hotels for the police To track and arrest wanted persons during their stay. The recordings showed that the Turkish authorities are fully aware of the number of jihadists whose Bali is smuggled across the border.
Under the title “Support and medical care of ISIS in Turkey”, the report discusses cross-border smuggling in the direction of reversing the current trend from Turkey to Syria, where the trend sometimes changes to the reverse transit to Turkey, especially for those who are seeking medical care.
ISIS appears to have contracted with the Danesmanlik Specialist Hospital in Ankara to treat injured ISIS militants, as the records illustrate discussions between Bali and the hospital owner to arrange payment of $ 62,000 as treatment expenses for 16 injured ISIS militants in Turkish hospitals who visited Bali with the knowledge of the Turkish authorities without being dumped He was arrested, and the hospital owner complains that the payment of $ 150,000 has been delayed due to the operations of the terrorists, with the arrangement of their confinement in private rooms that are out of sight for months, in which the cost of the hotel has reached more than $ 40,000, with a warning of shaving their beards to keep them out of suspicion.
In a strong blow, the report revealed that the Turkish Intelligence Agency (MIT), which is specialized in gathering information on external and internal sources of danger, may also have been involved in supporting Erdogan’s policy of supporting jihadists inside and outside Turkey, and even providing them with information that would help them avoid falling into the grip The Turkish police themselves, that is, the deviation has reached the point where intelligence works against the same security services of its country!
