Barcelona said in a statement on its official website, that the players of the two teams (after the approval of the Getafe team on the initiative) will enter the floor of the “Camp Nou” field accompanied by Chinese children wearing T-shirts bearing the slogans in both Chinese and English, which will be written on it “Together is stronger” and “Courage to the thief”
The statement added that Barcelona wants to invest its widespread influence in the world to express its solidarity with China and its support for people infected with this virus, which has killed more than 1300 people and infected thousands across the country.
The Catalan club, through its initiative, wants to stand up to the racial discrimination and social exclusion that the Chinese people suffer after the emergence of the Corona virus since late last year. Last week, Inter Milan, during the “Derby of anger” match against its historical rival, took the initiative in Milan in solidarity with the Chinese people, when the players wore shirts especially for the Chinese people, and wrote in Chinese: “Today and always, together as a team.”
